Top 5 Travel and Local Apps on Android in Costa Rica Q4 2022

In the fourth quarter of 2022, the top five travel and local apps on the Android platform in Costa Rica displayed diverse performance trends. Here’s a closer look at their weekly downloads and active users, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Airbnb saw a rise in weekly downloads, peaking at around 4.7K in mid-November, and ended the quarter with approximately 4.4K downloads in the last week of December. The app's weekly active users also increased, starting from 26.8K at the beginning of October and reaching 33.5K by the end of December.

Alaska Airlines - Travel experienced fluctuating download numbers throughout the quarter. Downloads were highest at the beginning of October with around 11.3K and dropped significantly to single digits in December. Active users mirrored this trend, starting at 18K in late September and decreasing to approximately 4.8K by the end of December.

Google Earth showed a steady performance in downloads, with a peak of about 3K in mid-October, and ended the quarter with around 1.6K downloads. The number of active users also saw an increase, starting at 13.2K and climbing to 18.8K in late November, before settling at around 13.9K by the end of the year.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel demonstrated consistent growth in downloads, starting from 598 at the end of September and peaking at approximately 1.5K in the last week of December. Active users also increased steadily, beginning at 35.9K and reaching almost 50K by the end of December.

Volaris had relatively stable download numbers, with a peak of around 870 in late September and a slight dip to 579 by the end of December. The app's active users started at 1.9K and showed a slight decline to about 1.6K by the end of the quarter.
